Man flu, my @rse

October 18, 2010

Hooray! Today the builders were due to start work again!

But no, apparently the team has called in with flu and so won’t won’t start ’til later this week.

Who comes up with these excuses? And since when did a whole building team get flu and not be able to start a job?

I think what the builder meant to say is “I’m sorry, we’ve overrun on a job and we’ll be with you in a few days.”

Still, if they have all got flu then I’d hate to see a building site of men with man flu. Can you hear the moaning and groaning from where you are, anywhere in the UK?!

I can hear the collective groans and moans from here. Too much to cope with all together.

    Hi,

Thanks for the update… I feel for you…

I’ve subscribed to hear your journey – we embarked on a building project here at Hen Corner which should have been nine weeks… only, due to building company going into administration, our family of four were still sleeping in the front room together nine months later…. Of course we didn’t sleep for nine months; we went to work/school/stripped wallpaper/built kitchen garden/etc.

I empathize and look forward to good news – which will come!

    Chin up!
