Architect appointment 10, learning labour positions 0

March 11, 2010

It feels like we’ve taken a big step forward with the appointment of architect Tom from the Pike Practice. He’s enthusiastic and understands that for us the house is all about a beautifully designed space, not designer taps and corian worktops. Our budget will probably mean we end up with a barely whitewashed, empty shell – but at least it will be a stunning, architecturally designed empty shell (we hope). And perhaps kitchens are overrated. At least we won’t have any washing up to do.

Even Gabriel the dog is feeling a bit more perky about his new home. He invited his friend, Louis, around to check it out. Here they are surveying the plasterwork on the ceiling.

Web hits: a good few days. The knitting gorilla saw over 3000 hits in one day, 2000 the next. Keeping the traffic momentum going is going to be hard. At least I’ve got guerilla gardening up my sleeve. Same gag, different photoshopped image…..

Today’s observation: Antenatal classes this weekend. Notes from the teacher came through and sirens started wailing when I read ‘Wear loose clothes, you will be practising labour positions with your partner.’ If I wasn’t lugging an extra 2 stone around with me I’d run for the hills. Failing that, I’m praying I go into labour before the weekend.

It looks like Louis has spotted a crack in the ceiling

Or he’s hoping a juicy bone might fall out of the sky
